We also have to allow lead time to reach him. We should allow at
week for him to respond. Thus for whatever release candidate we want to
propose testing, we should notify him at least at least a week before.
Given the long time it took to reach him the last time I think we should
probably calculate a bit more. However, with the RC cycle being two
weeks, I think my approach of using RC2 is reasonable.
I'm not sure how much time I will have the next month. I would
at least help beta test, but we will see what is possible. I'd also
be interested in making announcements on gaming sites once the release
is issued. We ought to build a list of sites in the forum together.
I don’t know who it was, but somewhere on the tracker we have a
recommendation for a forum to post a release announcement to. Back then
we were doing the first betas, which I deemed too early for such an
announcement, but we should maybe dig it out again. I think it was ciro
who posted it, but I’m not entirely sure.
I remember something similar has been posted on the old SMC forum,
probably in the beta announcement thread. I’ll review that one again.
Also, Quintus, this email is in text mode.
Congratulations :-). Looks quite good now on both the forum and my mail
